About Us

SARDA Southern Scotland train and qualify dogs and their handlers to be able to find High Risk Vulnerable Missing People.

 

SARDA Southern Scotland has a number of different breeds of dog qualified and in training for the disciplines of Air ScentingTrailing and Water.

 

They work with many of the Scottish Mountain Rescue Teams primarily covering the counties of Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Borders, Perth and Kinross, Angus, Stirling, North, South and East Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire, who are always on call and ready to be deployed by Police Scotland 24 hours a day.

 

SARDA Southern Scotland provide this service completely free of charge, as do all of the Member Associations.

NSARDA is a charity-based Association representing Member Associations

The purpose of NSARDA is to:

  1. Promote on a National level the charitable work of the Member Search and Rescue Dog Associations of the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland;

  2. Promote the development of Search Dogs, Dog Handlers and Dog Supports / Navigators to locate high risk missing persons;

  3. Support handlers to achieve a greater understanding of training of Search Dogs.
