Water Search Dogs

Probationary Member Association

NSARDA Water Search Dogs covers England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

This Member Association works with and supports all Lowland and Mountain Rescue Teams, plus Police Forces and other emergency services including the Fire Service and Coastguard.

Due to the limited numbers and locations of water search dogs, these are deployable as a national asset as well as a local asset in a location where the water search dog belongs to a Member Association.

They can be deployed at the request of the above organisations or through the local Lowland Rescue and Mountain Rescue teams, to search for and Rescue High Risk Vulnerable Missing Persons.

Every member is a volunteer and they provide this service to their community completely free of charge.

About Us

NSARDA Water Search Dogs train and qualify dogs and their handlers to be able to find High Risk Vulnerable Missing People.

NSARDA Water Search Dogs has a number of different breeds of dog qualified and in training for this discipline.

You will find water search dogs in these Member Associations:

Oxfordshire (Qualified)

Kent (None qualified – in training)

Southern Scotland (Qualified and in training)

You will find also find NSARDA Qualified water search dogs in these Organisations:

Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs (Qualified and in training)

The dogs and handlers are always on call and ready to be deployed 24 hours a day.

NSARDA Water Search Dogs provide this service completely free of charge, as do all of the Member Associations.

NSARDA is a charity-based Association representing Member Associations

The purpose of NSARDA is to:

Promote on a National level the charitable work of the Member Search and Rescue Dog Associations of the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland;
Promote the development of Search Dogs, Dog Handlers and Dog Supports / Navigators to locate high risk missing persons;
Support handlers to achieve a greater understanding of training of Search Dogs.
